Red-winged Blackbirds
Last week some new visitors showed up at the feeders. At first there were only a couple, but the next morning there was such a huge flock of blackbirds in the yard that I had to take the feeders down for 24 hours until they had moved on.

Sharp features.. wonderfully captured.. Brian..:)
Towards the end of winter, returning Red Wing blackbirds are the first birds that show up at my feeder. I haven't seen any yet.
and with that smart dash of red; fabulous
What a wonderful sight at this time of the year. I'm waiting for them to arrive here but I guess it will be a while yet. I never saw one up that close to notice the yellow edging along the feathers. Beautiful photos.
i've still got quite a few coming in here - battling with whistlers for leftovers.
love their sharp suits and red epaulets.
Great images!
Beautiful bird with the stitches of orange and yellow. enJOYed the Red Winged Black Bird.
I never thought of taking the feeders down to discourage them. Great idea. You took some awesome shots, though!
Beautiful images! There's nothing quite like a Red-winged Blackbird for flashiness, and I love their songs.
I have always enjoyed seeing the RW Blackbirds, they are pretty in flight. Great closeups, Brian! Have a happy weekend!
What a handsome bird! One of my favorites.
I have started seeing mine but they never get close enough to the window for me to get a good image!!
I am always happy when you share more the one picture!! Great shots Brian!!
Sounds like they took over for a while. Beautiful shots!
Hi! Beautiful bird. Dont Think we have it in Sweden.
Have a great weekend.
I've never seen a more beautiful red-wing.
I never knew red-winged blackbirds had little edges of color on so many of their feathers! Really wonderful shots! Yes, they get the word out when they find a good thing, don't they?! :-)
Fantastic shots of the Blackbirds. I'm always wanting to capture them but so far haven't done so. Wow that must have been a big bunch of them to have had to take the feeders down.
Lovely close-up...lately I've seen the same thing in the pastures around here...they are in flocks of several hundreds.
