Merry Christmas - Unplugged

Facebook. Twitter. Blogging. Those are three things I haven't been doing for the past twelve days or so. I reached a "social media" saturation point and took a self-imposed break from the online world. When I get burned out or annoyed by those things, I have to step away and take a breather. It's remarkable how much I got done! Not to mention, life continues to function just fine without a daily barrage of Twitter and Facebook updates. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy both and the friends I have there, but there are times when I have to cut the electronic umbilical cord.

I've spent more time with my daughter, especially since she's on Christmas break. I've also done some hunting, made preparations for the holidays, and started reading a honest-to-goodness physical book. Reading is something I really enjoy, but don't make as much time for as I should.

My main purpose for this post is to wish those of you who will be on the road or in the air safe travels. I hope everyone has an enjoyable time spent with family and friends! I've still got some wrapping to do myself. Yes, I'm one of those last minute folks.

Here are a few recent photos I'll share. Other than that, I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! God bless you and your families!

I know what you mean about having to take a break and from us readers, it's nice to see a blogger take a break then come back with fresh ideas. Merry Christmas to you and yours, too, Brian! Have a safe rest of the season as well.

Hope you had a good break from us fellow stalkers. Thanks for the Christmas wishes - and same to you, your daughter, and to the rest of the King clan...

Good for you for taking that break. I want and need one as well I'm starting to think....
Glad you got all that accomplished- amazing how much time it leaves us with when we do back away from our "technological life".
Beautiful winter scenes- and have a wonderful Christmas. Enjoy your time with the people in your life!
Merry Christmas!

I've been sick the past couple weeks and took a "forced" break from technology...and I must say I actually enjoyed. It is amazing how much time flies when playing with technology.

Beautiful and peaceful pictures. Happy Holidays to you and your family!...LB

You stand with company, Brian. Slowly but surely - I'm beginning to breathe, again. LOL I have, yet, to pop one single holiday goodie into the oven. Dwayne beat me to it. But without doubt - there will be Christmas Calories abounding in this house by Saturday morning!

In the meantime - from our home to yours - we wish you and yours the most wonderful blessings of Joy, Peach and Happiness this Christmas season! May you have a very Happy New Year! And may Mother Nature choose to take her hormone pills in time to be ever-so-kind around your place for the holidays!

Sure feels nice to step away every once awhile and reaclimate to the non-social-networking world. It is nice to have you back, however. May you and your family have a fantastic holiday season! -stephanie

I hear ya Brian...when I had recent computer problems I got away from the 'social' thing and have had trouble getting back into it..."trouble", LOL...it was almost a blessing in disguise, things can get pretty stale in Albert Gores invention at times ;)

Merry Christmas bud...Dennis

Thanks for the follow; closed my FB account too. It all gets too impersonal at times, but blogging seems different, more personal and I love making connections with people across the country. Your pics are beautiful, really enjoying your blog!
