Today's Tip:
A lens hood provides a couple of benefits. It helps prevent flare by blocking side light and also protects the lens should you hit the front against an object.

Nice composition and reflections..... it's very good picture Brian.
Wish you a nice weekend, Joop
This reflection is so beautiful.
contemplative. Lovely photo Brian. I was watching very similar herons myself today too.
I like the reflection of the grey heron.
Krásna volavka popolavá. Mne sa ešte nikdy nepodarila odfotiť tak zblízka.
Beautiful gray heron. Me has never failed a picture so close up.
Wow, awesome reflection. Love this heron shot, Brian! Happy weekend!

Fantastic shot, I love the reflection you have in this photo.
Beautiful shot! I love the colors in the reflection.
Absolutely fabulous...excelent shot...
They are such patient creatures- awesome shot Brian.
Gorgeous photo! Your heron pics are beyond comparison. I don't always use my lens hood. Sometimes I want a little flare. But I never thought about the protection it might afford. Hmmmm...
Incredibly beautiful!
It's a stunning shot Brian...
Wonderful reflections and composition!
Happy weekend!
I hope the bird found its meal at last... ^^
Stunning!!!
Lovely shot Brian!!! The colors in the water are beautiful and of course the heron is fabulous!!!
I've been using the hood for my new lenses...definitely notice a difference in the side light vignetting that goes without the hood!
i always wondered what that was for ;)
i really should take a class!!
btw, awesome image!!
A hood took the beating for my zoom lens the other day. And a uv protector was the only thing that was damaged when my camera took a dive off a bunk in a boat. I'm making vows to be more attentive to my camera gear but it's good to have some buffers for the things that go bump.
Beautiful reflections!! Love egrets, saw one just the other day at the lake...have to sneek on him :-)
