A great shot of another of our fine feathered friends. Wonder what he is thinking....he looks so fine standing there surveying the world around him.

Ah, the killdeer cry has gone south for the winter and it's one of the first harbingers of spring up here. One I love to hear before I ever see the bird.

I love the killdeer with those big eyes. Amazing how their feathers mimic the rocks. Beautiful portrait!

The Kildeer is a favorite of mine. We have them all around us but I see them mostly in the reserve along the road by the small rain ponds. They blend in so well, it is easy to miss them. I also enjoy their antics if you come near their nest. I enjoyed this wonderful picture, Brian, becasue it is winter and our Kildeer are all gone.

Such pretty birds and you got a stunning image there Brian. My husby calls Canada Geese ducks and he calls Killdeer Plovers every time...I am thinking he knows better ;)

This one is little beauty. Spectacular image.

Beautiful shot Brain. I like the way Killdeer fake the broken wing to lure you away from the hiding spot of the nest.

Beautiful angle on this one. They a so small and I bet it was hard to get the shot. But you did a fantastic job, especially with the focus!
