Cell phone (or smartphone) cameras have gone from being an afterthought on devices to being quite good. For many people, their cell phone camera has replaced regular cameras. I'm not one of them because, as good as they are, cell phone cameras still have far too many limitations for the kind of shooting I do. However, I do use my iPhone for taking photos and editing them using a variety of photo apps. The editing is the fun part for me. I just like to see what I can create right on my phone. I know photographers who think this kind of stuff is ruining photography, but I ignore that and just have fun.

You have one big advantage over the average cell phone photographer. You know how to compose you shots.
They are all stunning, I like the thistle heads so much? is that what the flower stalks are? And the brightest yellow day lily, as we call them down here.I am inspired by looking.!!! Greetings from Jean.
These photos are grand examples of camera fun, Brian. And I see this is where you allow yourself some "editing play"? :-) And as for those who turn their noses up at using anything but a serious camera--deliver us from the purists of the world!
BTW, think I might know where the first photo was taken.
Just goes to show that the equipment is important, but the photographer is the MOST important element! I like these a lot - and Andy is right - you do know how to compose your shots!
awesome views. my fav is the fishing pole shot. too great! (:
Nice shots, Brian- what type of editing app are you using?
Que lindas ficaram.Perfeitas! Tenha uma linda semana!beijos, chica
There are times when I find carrying my big camera an inconvenience and discover that I forgot to but the point and shoot in my purse. I then wish I had a camera on my phone. I have seen some excellent shots taken on a cell phone.
I enjoyed your collection today. That tree is an amazing find.
It's amazing what can be done with phone cameras, but Andy is right. You know how to do it.
Fun photos with your phone. You are good!
Oh such fun pictures! I love having my cell phone to take pictures with. I hate being anywhere without a camera. You have a great set of cell phone shots.
I don't think the editing always ruins it as long as you don't try to pass it off as something it isn't. I've heard the iphone cameras are actually pretty darned good and you've shown that. As with the little cameras though, the limitation I see most is not having an actual view finder - those screens out of doors can be difficult! Fun shots and I can't find a favorite.
every one of these is wonderful. i lean towards the trees, of course - both that fine old one and the craggy ones in the top photo. beautiful editing throughout. you're no slouch with whatever camera you use.
the ferris wheel is magnificent! love the fishing rod view.
These are great. I have yet to get a phone with a decent camera.
my cell phone doesn't take very good photos but sometimes you can play with them and make them look cool....love yours...that ferris wheel is awesome...
These are great Brian and you had fun with them! My favorite is the bridge because it brings back good memories for me. There used to be a railroad bridge over the river near where I lived. As kids we would go there and walk across it.
Brian these are fantastic. I'm so glad you played around and had some fun with these shots.
The first shot is my favorite followed by the BW of the View Finder and then the Fishing Pole shot.
These are wonderful! I don't care what camera is used. A great image is a great image. I don't believe in camera snobbery.
Brilliant set Brian, love the first shot, excellent.
Wow! Those are so awesome! :):)
These are great shots. I like the one of the bridge and the old tree best. I like the editing and am wondering which program you use. I'm not having a lot of success with the new editing programs. Thanks. Pam
Great series! I really like the b&w viewfinder.
Very cool and creative!
I agree with what Don says and that is your edge because your photos are lovely!

These are really awesome. I think the phone camera has just about replaced the point & shoot. It will probably never replace a DSLR, but I think they do a very good job, especially if you're in a pinch. The editing adds to the creative aspect, and I think you enhanced these beautifully.
What a great series of pictures. You have an eye for a shot.
nice set of pictures - did you catch anything when your were fishing?
I think its remarkable what you can do on a phone these days - all these "its ruining photography" people have got there heads somewhere dark if you ask me!
My tip would be to go to Dubai in the winter! Given its location is not going to be cold - but it wont be so hot either.

Whimsical fishing-pole-cam like shot.
Your talent is not limited to a long lense that's for sure. Love the first picture of the bridge and the fishing pole looks like a stairway to heaven (that's one long pole) ... and again Brian thanks for sharing. You bring us places and wildlife like we never see on our own.
Wow amazing pictures with a cell phone...great!
I have to agree!! I use my iPhone for photography when I am out, as well as my camera. I also post my photos to Instagram and the phone is great for that!!
All great shots... and the phone apps and editing is a lot of fun!
