Yet another sparrow shot (just came from the Ranch) I have to pay more attention to the sparrows that visit my yard..they all look the same to me! Your photos are so sharp..love these!
Great photos of the song sparrow. They do have a pretty little song. I have been using you new website all along. So don't know why all of a sudden I'm not getting your posts. I think it's a Google thing.
Perfect pictures of this darling little bird...and the mark of a true professional birder is not being satisfied with just "sparrow", but identifying them completely!
Mystery solved! I've been seeing these little stripeys feeding with the big guys in the front yard. No idea what they were. As usuals your photos are so well defined I may learn to identify a few bird other than robins from you, Brian. :-)

Brian, pretty shots of the Song Sparrow!
That is superb, I can see such detail in the feathers, did he know you were there, or did you use a telephoto lens? Greetings from Jean
This is so much better than a snake and a worm. I didn't know this was a song sparrow. I have them at my feeder a lot and now I know what they are!

How fun, that is one pretty little sparrow. I love the stripes on the breast and now I am going to go see if I can listen to their song.

great shots brian!!
He is purty! Wonderful, crisp shots. Such a treat to see a sparrow other than the typical house sparrows.
andee said you and i were on the same page today. you with song and me with savannah. your shots are 100x better than mine, though. :)

WOW! The detail is amazing! Great captures!
Oh how cute. Fabulous captures! We have so many varieties in our yard. I can't identify them all.
Lovely post for the theme!
Happy WBW!
Great shots of the Song Sparrow! We don't have any in south Florida but look forward to seeing them in Illinois.
It's a little beauty...
Beautifully detailed photos of the sparrow.
Oh my, Brian, those are gorgeous! I think I can count every feather! Would you mind telling what kind of lens you use?

Once again you've brought us a bird up so close we can count the eyelashes and marvel at the beauty of something we would otherwise ignore. Thanks!
lovely closeups; so clear; a beautiful little sparrow too
What a darling little sparrow. I love the line markings. You capture such awesome details in your shots.
Gorgeous shots of the sparrow.

Very nice little bird - although I imagine that they must be hell to ID when you start!
Love the gull post as well.
Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW

Our song sparrows are just arriving. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Brian...
magical images. They're extraordinary...love the close up views; like it's showing off his/her personality through the viewfinder.
That is the second one I have ever seen on a blog. Theresa of TexWisGirl also has very similar sparrow in this same meme
I love these dear little birds!
Connie, for these photos I used a Sigma 500mm.
I love the low angle shots for these, Brian. Gives everyone a much better idea of what the species looks like in their own yards. Very neat.
Wow!!! No wonder!!! 500mm...awesome!!!
