This is a wonderful series, sharp with lots of action and expression. In one of these it reminds me of a swimmer, diving into a pool for a race.

These are fantastic..I was so surprised at how light the great blue is as we had to rescue one from fishing line...it did recover...it is kind of delicate and awesome all at the same time...Michelle

great series! love the water flecks on both front and back in #2. #6 captures the gorgeous 'blue' of GBH - almost like a painting. #12 is a fantastic catch of a great position. great job!!!

Fantastic series. I love Blue heron flight pictures. The dynamics of flight is never more dramatic than when these great birds take off. You've really got that leap and stretch recorded brilliantly!
Great stuff BJK!

magnificent photographs in flight. Have to ask what photographic equipment you're using. I did a quick look around your blog but not sure it's mentioned? Maybe I was too hasty.

so many great shots. The wings are really impressive. I´v seen them close like that once. And it scared the h-l out of me as I was sitting in a kayak. :) Luckily I did not fall. I actually got a shot. :)

Wonderfully expressive shots, all of them. Don't you just love the sleek line of the 'stealth bomber' pose?

Awesome shots of the Great Blue Heron Brian! I especially like the photos of the bird just taking off out of the water and the one where it's coming right at you.
