Many Good Fences

1/320 sec. f/16 ISO 200

Sometimes there's no such thing as too much "fencery".

Kentucky Snow Barn

1/100 sec. f/11 ISO 200

The barn is real, but the snow is not. Snow effects achieved using infrared, blizzard, and opacity adjustments.

Kentucky Barns...On The Water

As you can guess from the title and the cattails, this is another barn that sits in a great location. This black barn is on the opposite side of the lake from the white barn I posted previously.

Kentucky Barns...It's All About Location

This rather nondescript, whitish and green barn is well maintained, but isn't what I would call fancy or unique. As they say in the real estate business, however, it's all about location, location, location.

This barn happens to be in a great location with a fantastic view.

Kentucky Barns...Evening Shots

This is an example of a typical Kentucky horse farm.

Kentucky Barns...Not Pretty

While I'm almost certain this is a barn, it's one of the stranger barns I've seen from a construction standpoint. Never mind the fact it needs some work now. It may have been built for a specific purpose (I hope). It's certainly no looker which is what caught my attention in the first place, but it was the overall scene that I found appealing.

Kentucky Barns...Horse Park Style

This is one of the many barns at the Kentucky Horse Park and one of the longer ones on the grounds. I took these photos back in the spring, but forgot I had them.

Kentucky Barns...Retirement

At one time, this barn and the property it sits on were used for horses. It was primarily a boarding facility and I always saw horses in the pasture when I'd drive by. The barn and property have since been sold to a large railroad company. I have no idea what the property will be used for now or whether the barn itself will remain.

Kentucky Barns...Not Black

In my recent barn posts, I've been showing you a lot of black barns, similar to this first one, which are common here. However, black is certainly not the only color of choice.

This barn is located on one of our many horse farms.

And this is an old agricultural barn that has been spruced up a wee bit. It's akin to putting a Band-Aid on a gaping wound, but whatever works.

Kentucky Barns Plus

I really like the old wagons in this barn. The John Deere spreader on the far right is my favorite.

What's better than an old black barn with some sheep inside?

How about an old black barn with some sheep AND a mule?

Or better yet, an old black barn with sheep and TWO mules.

The ol' run-in sheds.

Technically, these really aren't barns, but they're pretending to be so I pretended to include them. Just pretend you see them. For all I know, the last one is a glorified outhouse with a view.
