Flying High II

The moon was very visible early in the evening a few days ago, so I decided to snap a few photos. I took two shots and still had the camera up to my face when I noticed the jet enter the viewfinder and I took this photo. This is one of those situations where skill had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome. I was simply lucky, fortunate, or whatever word you want to use. Had I been just a few seconds later, I would have missed it completely.

That is a splendid picture - sometimes things just work, which makes up for the more frequent times when they don’t!!

Great photo, I can feel the calmness in the shot.

a great shot Brian! I was looking out tonight at the moon to see what was happening. Believe a full moon tomorrow night, but doubt there'll be much happening at the weather is cloudy and wet and more to come. Will try to remember to try for it though and see what results.

Lucky or not this shot is fabulous. I'm thinking you should title this, "Fly Me to the Moon."

So cool to have the moon and plane in the same photo (without using any photoshop trickery!).

Moon shots are hard for me. I am hoping to get a few decent ones while we are camping. That is such a lovely picture.

Which lens did you use for this one?

All I can say about your shot is, wow. I'm in awe. I've gotten some good moon shots over the past few years, but nothing like this. Fabulous. Love the plane in there too, a happy accident. :-)
