Fishing...Great Blue Heron Style

And just in case you thought he got lucky on that first one, let's watch Mr. Heron show off his mad skills a second time.

But even the most skilled angler sometimes comes up empty-billed and feathers ruffled.

gorgeous shots! the water splash ones are awesome, but the flip in mid-air is pretty fabulous! and just so we don't think the GBH is all that, you showed his miffed-in-defeat side, too. nice job!

Amazing series of shots! That old bird was really putting on an exhibition and you caught it expertly. A dazzling display!

Two out of three is pretty good going. I usually loose more baits than I catch fish. Absolutely splendid capture. I've never thought of them as deep water anglers before. Really stunning shots of all the action.

Awesome fishing there! Wish it was that easy for me. I do believe I have given that sport up. I have never had any luck in the fishing department;)
These are great shots Brian!

Great series! I'm always impressed with how efficient herons are at catching fish. In my experience they seem to catch prey on a strike more often than they miss.

Great series on the fishing Great Blue Heron Brian! It's amazing how many fish all the herons and egrets are able to catch in a short period of time. You're not jealous are you?

Fantastic series! The heron reminds me a little of photography, sometimes missing any great catches, yet ready for another day.

Hi there - seems that the heron went to a lot of time and effort for just a few small fish - reminds me of me!

Great sequence.

You may find my "other blog" of interest - more words about being outdoors. There is a link from my photo-blog.
