Great images....you don't see many old wooden fences like this anymore.

...typical country scene; nicely presented. Bet cat was enjoying scouting around out there too..

Great photos Brian, love the texture of the fence! I'm sure that cat is having a blast out there!

What a great series of fences! And the cat was a bonus!

great shots. i wonder what the cat is after? a mouse or? lovely. (:

That is one beautiful fence. I know that sounds weird, but that plastic stuff bothers me. Round bales make it better and the kitty tops it off perfectly!

Am under the weather. Had 3 big molars pulled yesterday and I would not wish that experience on my worst enemy. I was looking at the post and it really perked me up this morning. I love hay fields with the hay rolls, but to have them fenced in with wood fences bordering the water is gorgeous. Great captures. genie

Beautiful shots. I love that the cat is in the one picture.

Beautiful fence - classic!
And I think 'cats in fields' could be a wonderful category in itself. Love the calico cat.

Oh, I love that wooden fence! That cat probably has an easier time hunting now that the hay has been cut and baled.

Calico hunting field mice. And hay bales? My mom needs lots for her horses, nobody around here has any... for sale, anyway. Awesome shots, love the fence & the warm color! =)

Brian as soon as I spotted your first photo the song "Take me home, country roads, to the place I belong..." popped into my head. I hope it doesn't stay there all day or I might be packing up my car and headed to the farm! lol

I LOVE your shots, the rich color of the hay and the weathered fence make for a beautiful photo of the country, Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong, West Virginia, mountain momma, take me home country roads. ;-)

Cheers.

What a beautiful job on your Friday's Fences. Thanks for all your comments on my blog. They are so appreciated!

Learning to study your photos closely, Brian. A lot of times it's not the main subject that's the star but something more subtle. Here the texture and color of the fence is just so spot on, but my eye went to those lacy weeds and the few colored leaves in the grass. Just lovely.

Great photos, Brian! I especially love the one with the cat. It is always nice to see freshly mowed and baled hay. We have a lot of that in our neck of the woods right now, and although we were mired in drought last summer we are among the lucky 20 percent of the nation right now that is not so categorized and as a result we've already experienced our second mowing season of hay and are hopeful for at least one, if not two, more!

Weather and time can sure add character to wood--or ruin it if it's part of your deck. Love the cat in the hay field.

Love the chippy white fence, the hay bales and the kitten. My favorites are he last two looking through the fence and seeing the weeds.

Bales of hay is ripe with wholesome goodness.

A weathered fence (great capture) provides a sense of protection and structure. Charming series!!!

Magnificent golden tones here. I'm smitten with the last shot; simple, but beautiful. Old weathered wood against the golden hues of grass. Bravo!
