The Cardinal reminds me of the Angry Birds, LOL, Fantastic details on the blue you would not be able to see flying around.

so handsome both these birds; what a treat to see them for real. Your photos are always captivating Brian; might you have taken either using a tripod at all? Everything seems perfect in your photographs; pat on the back! You inspire.

Neither of those beauties live in my neighborhood. Thanks for the up close and detailed look at them. Nice work!

Sometime you'll have to tell me about the camera and lens you use to get such tight shots. Do you use a tripod or do you just have a steady hand and vibration reduction?

Stunning birds and the clarity of your shots is just wonderful. I love seeing the detail of birds that we all see as more "common".

Wonderful photos! I think at times I take these common birds for granted... It's good to see such a great photo to remind me just how beautiful they are and how fortunate I am to have them as year round residents.

Lovely red cardinal against the gold background. And I love the little bit of snow on the blue jays bill.

Aptly titled and such gorgeous shots! Love the birds' color contrast against the snow.

Brian? Once again, stunning images. They're both spectacular. As you posted in my comments about the Black Vulture not being quite as common as the Turkey Vulture, I must say I'm green with envy that you have Blue Jays in your vicinity...here, they're not.

Excellent photos. As always!!

My goodness! We can even see their eyeliner. I must send your blog link to my cousin in Ohio. She's a great birder and is trying to educate me.
