Walking On Water?

This turtle was probably 20 yards from the bank and seemingly resting on top of the water. Obviously, something was holding him up and it wasn't a lily pad, but I never could figure out what it was. When I came back later, he had managed to turn around and face away from shore.

He almost appears to be surfing...without the waves, of course! Interesting that you can't see what is holding him up! Very nice clear shots!

Sweet! It does look like he's almost floating, or hovering magically...perhaps there's a rock, just under the surface of the water..?

Heh heh. That turtle had himself a fine perch of some kind. I like his colors and his snooty face.

Turtles have amazing balance for something that looks rather cumbersome!

I LOVE turtles, do you have them living near you Brian? The photos are awesome, and who would have thought that turtles could actually walk on water? ;-)

Cheers.

was the water just that shallow, maybe? that's odd that you wasn't able to see a tree trunk or anything in the water... cool shots, at any rate! he's one handsome dude! heheheee =)

Cool shots Brian! It has to be on top of a rock, maybe one that is just under the surface of the water, otherwise it's a mystery!
