just SO beautiful. These are cracker photographs Brian :)!
Attractive looking gal.
Every bit as gorgeous as the male!
I've never really paid attention to how much Mrs. Cardinal's hair resembles a mohawk. Fantastic captures.
Brian, pretty shots of the female Cardinal!
oh these are super! i really love that last shot! i'm trying to be like you this morning....i put some cantalope out on the deck and have my camera ready and the window open...waiting for a volunteer to come up! so far nada :(
perfection, as always!! she has gorgeous, long tail feathers!!one question, did you comb her little spike for her??
Excellent shots Brian
She's a beauty! Awesome captures with the light snowfall. The third one from the bottom is my favorite. Her crown is up and her pose is so interesting. Love your ability to get such sharp focus, especially of the eyes. It's difficult to achieve with birds sometimes. Excellent set!
She may not be all read like the male but she does have beautiful colouring. Wonderful photos, Brian.
These are so wonderful, Brian, I love Cardinals & these are so crisp & clear, plus the falling snow is a very nice addition... they made me smile! =)
very pretty girl..female cardinals don't get much press!
The fourth one is totally my favorite however....all I could think of seeing the first one was "cool punk hairdo"!
Absolutely beautiful photos. I can see so much detail in the feathers, it amazes my eye.
I think the females are stunningly beautiful!
tried to pick a favorite but couldn't. 3rd, 4th and 5th shots are just awesome, but the last is cool, too. great set! :)
I posted a little friend for your post ... they would make a beautiful pair. I have seen that hair style (the first picture) on others and find it much more appealing on the Lady Cardinal. As always, it is a joy to come to your blog, Brian. Be well ...Andrea @ From The Sol
What a stunning little bird Brian... wonderful images.
What great close up photos of Mr Cardinal. He`s fun and perky:) I don`t think we have that bird here in Norway.
Such a pretty girl!!! Great captures!
this is the first I ever knew about female cardinals being anything other than red!!! We don't have cardinals out here...at least none that I've ever seen...and I never knew!!! When I saw this my first thought was "Oh! How pretty! But it looks like a cardinal...I wonder if it's related?"Thanks for the education...and I think she's just as beautiful as her red counterpart!!! She's striking!!!
A lovely post, - great photos!
Beautiful photos! Here I am wondering how the birds are surviving sitting on the powerlines in 40+degrees celsius and yours are freezing! so amazing.
Man, Brian! All of these views are tremendous. Thank you!!!!!
I love the males brilliance, but I adore the colors of the females! Also very striking, but in a different way.
Beautiful photos of Mrs. Cardinal, Brian! Love her hairdo!
Beautiful captures of Ms. Cardinal at her finest!
She's so beautiful. You've caught her in many cute poses.
cardinals are one of our fav birds, esp in winter. she is so striking! since I am pretty much house bound I am limited to snapping through dirty-ol double pane windows, lol. so my cardinal this week can not compare to yours. my first time sharing in WBW. thanks for sharing!
Wonderful pictures, she's a beauty!
Great set of pictures - these birds do seem to go well with winter colours. My Wood Duck and your Wood Duck only share the same name - they are not very closely related at all. In fact my bird is almost not a duck at all by some taxonomic thinking - I was going to include this stuff in my post - but I think I find this stuff more interesting than most people!Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.Stewart M - Melbourne
Great image series showing :)
Great shots. They show the beauty of the females. I always think of the male cardinal as the most stunning. Their coloring is much more complex. Just like a woman.
Great sequence of little Miss Brown Lovely Brian.
What an exceptional series Brian! I really enjoy the female Cardinals even more, than the males, because I am not so big, on all out red colours, but these females, are always such beauties!
She's gorgeous! Love your photo's of this bird. I think my favorite is the 4th shot down.
Wow, beauiful, lovely colors!!
Absolutely gorgeous photos.
Hi Brian...These are all just awesome shot's !! That's a great hair-do!!Looks like I could touch those feathers through the screen!!Nice!!Grace
So beautiful, Brian! Female cardinals really are stunning!
A bird from my own back yard, but one I seldom get to see so close up or clearly! What a beautiful look at our cardinals!
