Great photos of beautiful birds. The snow makes spectacular photos but I can only imagine how cold I would be!

Excellent series Brian!
I can hardly wait for them to come back to my yard. It will probably be a couple more weeks.

Their colors are magnificent. Each shot is a masterpiece Brian.

Great pictures.

It occurs to me that it would be a good project to try to post pairs of birds with the same common name that are actually different species.

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

Sweet and beautiful!

Impressive! Our goldfinches are not this colorful. They do have the striking bars on the wings, but a very pale yellow on the belly.

Yes, one of the first signs of spring is the turning of the Gold Finch feathers to their beautiful bright yellow. Even though there is snow in these pictures, we all know that Spring is coming, right? I keep hoping that the reality will be here soon, but the temperatures are still cold and unbearable. Beautiful pictures as always ...

I need to study your great photos of birds so I can identify a few more than currently know. Your photos are always so clear and closeup so worth studying. Plus, just plain beautiful shots from nature.

Oh such beauty in gold too Brian. These are wonderful and the third and fifth ones down, really grand! Wonder if we will get any of the snow predicted...

What sweet little birds. I love the cheery yellow color. The Washington State bird is a Gold Finch but they are much different (more yellow) then these birds. Wonderful shots.

These little golden beauties are so pretty and you photographed them perfectly! Ours are a little more yellow but my shots are not nearly the quality of these.

I'm so sad that your blog has stopped updating in my reader. What should I do? Is there an option to subscribe by email?
