Night Light

1/100 sec. f/9 ISO 100

I'm at the point where I'm bored with moon photos. Unless I can include another element in the shot, the photos all look the same. I almost didn't even photograph the "supermoon" the other night, but decided to take a few shots, anyway. This may be the last moon photo I post for a while unless I can get a more interesting scene.

It was too cloudy for the super moon here. Nice shot!

So you are finally giving up mooning people. (:-0) It's a great shot but I do agree with you that it needs something else in the photo.

I missed my window of opportunity for the super moon. This is an awesome shot! But I hear you on all the moon pics looking the same.

It was cloudy here so I wasn't able to shoot, your shot is awesome so i'll just enjoy yours for now :) Have a great weekend!

Still an excellent shot, Brian. I've given up on nighttime photography for awhile. Too frustrating for me!

It's a beautiful shot- but I do know how you feel. I'd love to get the moon reflecting off the lake, or over a mountain top!

This is a great shot. I know exactly how you feel - were it not for my son who wanted to go out and take pictures I would have passed this last time.

Don't ever be bored or ashamed of something so magnificent as the moon. Maybe others have taken similar shots, nevertheless it is still the amazing handiwork of the Amazing Creator God! Beautiful rendition!

Agree, Brian. They start to all look the same. This one is a real beauty, though! Spectacular detail.

Always like to look at a good moon shot, and this is the super moon after all. You never know when you might pick up some unusual event on the moon and that is what I look for....

I never tire of moon photos, either. I understand what you are saying, but I have a love affair going with the moon, and the three nights the supermoon coincided with the solstice and then swelled to moon perfection delighted me. And you have captured it so wonderfully!

I dunno...this is a pretty awesome shot!!! The clarity and detail is stunning!!!

But you did an excellent job. I can almost see the lunar rover!

You've got some spots I've never seen in moon shots before. So clear compared to so many other shots of the moon. Glad you posted. enJOYed it.

but it sure is an awesome moon shot, very clear! i don't have a lens to shoot the moon, anymore, since my good camera was stolen last year... i miss the lens very, very much! =0

That's a really good moon shot, but I hear what you are saying. I want someone to find someone running around up there or something.

wow, that is an amazing shot, so much detail...mine just looked like a big white circle...i understand though about wanting something else...there was nothing near me to add to to it but i have seen lots of gorgeous photos where they've added another element in the shot!

I agree, Brian--just one more golden globe in a dark sky is not very interesting even if you're able to pick up some detail on the moon. Even some night clouds or tree branches add some interest. I did like the pics of the supermoon where there was another point of interest--statue, bridge, building--in the composition.

This is a marvellous capture Brian (despite your reservations!) - such fabulous detail. Thanks for sharing it.

I felt the same, but I shot it anyway (and posted it on IG).
I suppose I need to look at the moon differently... after all it's quite an incredible part of creation.
