Dos Turkeys

A couple of wild turkeys took an afternoon stroll through my brother's backyard while we were there on vacation. They definitely aren't what I'd call handsome up close, but during spring mating season they are rather impressive in full strut.

I once read ugly can be beautiful, even when it is not pretty...Earlier this year I was able to photograph a large group of wild turkeys in the pasture. Two males were "strutting their stuff". They are fascinating to watch. As usual, great photos!

that nose hair thing is pretty awful, but love their metallic sheen!

once saw a window display in NYC of a turkey made out of silver spoons and other cutlery (it was thanksgiving weekend). that's what i think of every time i see a photo of that shine. :)

Nice shots, Brian. We have lots of wild turkeys around our house and you are right. They aren't always the prettiest of birds.

They do have vice colouration though!
