Kentucky Bison

Bison roam North America while buffaloes are found in Africa and Asia. Though bison are often referred to as buffalo, they are different species with distinct differences.

I guess I never thought that they were two distinct species and we round them up as Buffalo. Beautiful pictures of this mama and her calves.

They are magnificent creatures. I don't know their differences so I would have thought they were buffalo. Beautiful photos!
