A Winter Couple

1/200 sec. f/8 ISO 1600

Northern Cardinals
Linking to Wild Bird Wednesday

Today's Tip:
Understanding the exposure triangle (shutter speed, aperture, ISO) and how they affect one another will allow you to make adjustments in order to prioritize the one part that's most important for the subject you're shooting.

To są cudowne ptaki, które u nas niestety nie fruwają. Pozdrawiam.
These are wonderful birds that with us, unfortunately, do not fly around. Yours.

Your pictures are always exceptional, Brian. This male is stunning, but, believe it or not, I love the coloring of the female ... subtle and beautiful.

Such a sweet pair. You nailed the focus once again. Wow.

It took me 4 years of shooting to get the "triangle" thing. I've been on manual for over a year and would not go back. Although the other day the sun was in and out of the clouds and I got tired of changing my shutter speed, so I put it on Aperture Priority and set my Exposure Compensation to two stops lighter. It worked out great and I may do that again in situations where the light is changing constantly.

So beautiful. My first sighting of cardinals remains one of my fondest bird memories. (We don't have them in our native Pacific Northwest and I had only seen their pictures until we traveled south.)

Beautiful Brian. I'm having problems with the focus on my zoom lens- it wants to focus on other objects besides the subject. I haven't a clue how to stop this. It is one of my worst issues.

You did it Brian! I've been trying to get a shot of this couple together for months--no luck. Such beautiful captures and they are just made for the snow that we've been having.

Thanks for the recommendations/hints. I need to focus on quality instead of quantity in the photos I take.

Such fantastic detail, Brian! Looks like you got some snow, too. Isn't it nice how it brings the birds around?
