I absolutely love cedar waxwings. They're the bird that first really interested me in birding (made me buy books and do research etc...). They flew into our yard (back when we still had our Oregon house) and we spotted them feeding each other holly berries ... we spent hours watching them in absolute awe.
These are wonderful pictures, Brian. Do you ever wonder why the poeple who named them ignored the "bandit" look. That is such a prominent feature and yet ... no mention of it, hmmmm. But by any name, they are gorgeous and I love that they are so social amongst themselves. Great post, as always.

i just love their soft coloration! such sweet birds. i only see them on gray, wintry days (if i'm lucky) as they migrate thru in clusters.
