Railroad Spires

This is a nighttime photo of the building that houses the RJ Corman Railroad steam locomotive known as "Old Smokey". The engine carried passengers and freight in China prior to coming to the United States. The track actually runs into the building and there's a garage-style door on the left end that opens to allow the locomotive to move in and out as needed.

The center spire on the building is 45 feet tall and the two end spires are 28.5 feet each. This was a handheld shot and I "skewed" the building by getting close with a wide angle lens.

Pancake Pretties

I'm sorry to disappoint any foodies who thought I was going to show photos of my breakfast. I finally had the opportunity to do some dedicated shooting with my new 40mm "pancake" lens. I was very pleased with the results. If you missed my first post about the lens, you can see why it's called a pancake lens HERE.

You probably won't see names to go along with a lot of my flower photos. Unlike wildlife, I don't get too concerned with actually finding out what they are. I see pretty, I shoot pretty. Simplistic, I know. And since I don't want to show all the pretty at once, I'll be sharing more photos in future posts.
