Very cute! I wonder what the difference is between the Carolina and the Black capped Chickadee that we are more familiar with. I am going to look that up right now. Happy birthday to your mother!

What a cutie! I would have a hard time recognizing a Carolina from a Black-capped usless they were sitting beside each other singing a duet.

I'm a fairly new birder, having always been more fond of the furry type of animals...and I'm interested in knowing how you know this is a Carolina? I'm sure there are minute differences in plumage? I guess we dont have them here in NY...do you not have BCCHs?
