Pancake Pretties

I'm sorry to disappoint any foodies who thought I was going to show photos of my breakfast. I finally had the opportunity to do some dedicated shooting with my new 40mm "pancake" lens. I was very pleased with the results. If you missed my first post about the lens, you can see why it's called a pancake lens HERE.

You probably won't see names to go along with a lot of my flower photos. Unlike wildlife, I don't get too concerned with actually finding out what they are. I see pretty, I shoot pretty. Simplistic, I know. And since I don't want to show all the pretty at once, I'll be sharing more photos in future posts.

1/1250 sec. f/3.5 ISO 100

People see me at the pond with my camera and start asking me all sorts of questions about what I'm shooting - animal, vegetable, mineral...I never know!?! Something catches my eye, I shoot it - simple as that! LOVE the purple - it's got attitude. And the vibrant orange? Sass.

I don't concern myself with what they all are, either... i like that, 'i see pretty, i shoot pretty' =)

Very pretty! I think the first flower is allium. Just in case you wondered just a teeny bit. I'm still pining for a dedicated macro lens, so the pancake lens will have to wait in line. :)

Well, unlike birds could be a real plant smartypants and tell you what they are. But why bother? Pretty is as pretty shoots! And these luminous colors just make us happy.

The two photos are amazing but you must of took it with macro or super macro and on the first one I like the green stem leading up to the head and know the last one. I really like this one because the bright orange and the most best think is the tips of the orange flower. That was a proper amazing post.

Now I want a pancake lens!

Pretty doesn't begin to describe these. Gorgeous is more appropriate. Your lens is amazing. I believe the 1st is Allium and the latter what I've heard called an Old Fashioned Marigold.

I have that same first flower just starting to bloom in my garden. These are really nice! The pancake lens does nice work! Fun to play isn't it!

I like shooting pretty. Seldom do I know the names. These are wonderful, and the pancake one is gorgeous (I love purple). Birds, trains, and flowers makes me think of the movie Trains, Planes, and Automobiles. It is so funny. genie

You are really branching out . these photos and the train above...wonderful! (Not at all disappointed, but definitely curious when I saw the title..never heard of a pancake lens, as you won't be surprised to hear!)
