Lake Views

This is a lake where I fish bass tournaments with a good friend of mine. It's our second year fishing this tournament division as a team. The lake is man made and was built eleven or twelve years ago strictly for the purpose of fishing. There is no swimming, skiing, or personal watercraft allowed on the lake. Artificial structures were put in place for the fish prior to the damming and all of the trees were left, so there is a lot of standing timber in the water. The lake is becoming known for having big bass and the state has strict size and bag limits in place. It's located in a rural part of the state and is surrounded primarily by farm land.

The lake is also home to bald eagles, herons, egrets, waterfowl, and a wide variety of smaller birds.

What a beautiful place! My idea of heaven! I have never fished tournaments - I am not that good - but I have fished since I was old enough to hold a cane pole. My dad and I fished whenever we got a chance - lakes, rivers, ocean. This place would be fabulous for me because one of my biggest gripes is the boaters who completely disregard the fisherman and fly by, disturbing the area! Oh, well, that's a soapbox for another day...
Love these photos - the sun on the water is just gorgeous!

Beautiful scenery here, Brian.
Sounds like a perfect spot for my fisherman and I. He loves to fish for Bass and I love to capture birds.

You go for the fishing & I'd go for the eagles... I haven't seen an eagle in the wild in ages!
The lake is definitely beautiful & same goes for your photos, too, esp the 4th pic... I love the 'illuminated' trees on the shore! And also, the clouds & color in the last pic! WoW! =)

Beautiful, Brian. One really senses the vastness of the area. The clouds and sky certainly cooperated with you this day. The blue in this series is so serene.

the sunburst and the sunset reflection are wonderful. i think my favorite of the bunch is the one showing the craggy tree remnants and the beautiful water ripples. NICE!

Wow! Great pictures as usual! That is one nice looking lake. I would not have guessed it was man-made.

That is really interesting that they'd 'build' a lake for fishing only. We were fishing for crappie with friends in the lake near The Land Between the Lakes many years ago and had a nice feed for supper. :) Beautiful photos.

All that standing timber just screams fish! Looks like it would be a good place. Do you have a spare place on your team? ;)
